Rounder Archive Launched
As I mentioned earlier. Rounder Records has launched Rounder Archive www.rounderarchive.com with the intent of making much of their back catalog (as well as some new releases) available for download and as custom CD’s. The first fifteen albums include titles by Vassar Clements, The Nashville Jug Band, Happy and Artie Traum and Guy Van Duser. Also included are two new albums by Cape Breton fiddlers Theresa Morrison & John L. MacDonald. Rounder intends to make 10-15 titles available each quarter.
The downloads seem to be available only through ITunes so if you use another music player you’ll have to stick to the custom CD’s.
The site got a nice write up in todays Boston Globe.
