No Direction Home

Article written by on Thursday, Sep 29, 2005 in Media

I really enjoyed No Direction Home even though I’m inclined to agree with Steven Hart’s assessment that it sheds little light on the man himself.

Katrina Relief Efforts

Article written by on Monday, Sep 19, 2005 in On The Web

The folk music email lists have been full of musical benefits and efforts to raise money for the victims of hurricane Katrina. Here are a couple of music related projects on the web. I’m sure there are many more.

Many artists who sell their CD’s through CD Baby are donating their entire wholesale price to to Katrina Relief. CD Baby is supporting the effort and sending the money directly to the Red Cross. Putumayo is donating all proceeds of sales of it’s New Orleans and Mississippi Blues CD’s to Katrina relief through the end of the year.

Thanks to Patti Witten who posted the CD Baby info on the folkvenu list. The Putumayo link is from gadling.
