Hamilton Camp Has Died

Hamilton Camp died suddenly on October 2nd, apparently of a heart attack. He was a singer, songwriter and actor who was a major figure early in the folk revival. His 1961 album with Bob Gibson, “Bob Gibson and Bob Camp at the Gate of Horn” influenced many who followed and his apocalyptic song “Pride of Man” was recorded often, possibly most famously by Quicksilver Messenger Service. He recorded a number of highly regarded solo albums. The last finished just before he died will be released in November.

Camp also had a long and successful carer as an actor with many appearances in film, television and on Broadway.
