I made the first posts to Back Porch News a year ago this evening. Eighty seven posts later It’s been an interesting ride. I was really unprepared for the number of obituaries I’d end up posting and on a couple of days where the only news was sad, I wondered if it was really worth it. There’s a lot of good news to report as well however and for the most part I’ve had a lot of fun bringing it to you.

So what’s ahead? ‘Goddess willing and the creeks don’t rise’ BPN will still be here next year. Still bringing you “all the news that’s folk to print” – or something like that. I’ve got some new features planned for the site itself and a couple of bigger articles on the state for the folk scene that I’ve been meaning to write. I’ll say more about those as I’m actually able to get to them.
