Video and DVD Performances Sought

Rod McDonald is looking for video/dvd performances for his upcoming lecture series…

I am teaching a lecture course at Florida Atlantic University in south Florida this winter titled “Folksinging in Modern Times,” a lecture course based on biographies of significant artists that builds on a previous series on Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger…. So, I am in need of some good video/dvd performances on many artists, and am asking if anyone knows any good sources for such… My artist list is fairly large, including the Weavers, Kingston Trio, Belafonte, Odetta, Bob Gibson, Leadbelly, John Hurt, Dave Van Ronk, Baez, Dylan, Ochs, Simon, Tom Rush, The Clancies, Judy Collins, Don McLean, John Lee Hooker, Ewan McColl, Dougie MacLean, Tom Paxton, John Prine, and a handful more, including some of today’s upcoming artists in the last session….. I am interested in anyone’s info on videos performances of these artists, and whether they are gpod documentaries, and especially if they contain whole song performances, (unlike, say, the Newport video)…. To read the actual course prospectus, go to http://wise.fau.edu/divdept/lifelong/winter2006/w103.htm Thanks everybody, Rod MacDonald
