Janette Carter Rushed to Intensive Care
Carter family matriarch Janette Carter was hospitalized on Tuesday and remains in intensive care although doctors say she is showing some signs of improvement. A combination of chronic illnesses, recovery from surgery, Parkinson’s Disease, and an infected gall bladder duct has created a medical crisis and she was rushed to the emergency room from the rehabilitation facility where she was recovering from a fall on Christmas Day 2005.
The daughter of A.P. Carter and Sara (and the niece of Maybelle), Janette has worked to keep the family traditions alive and founded the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virgina.
