Songs The Walemen Sang Republished
Mystic Seaport in Connecticut, the premiere East Coast maritime museum, has republished ‘The Songs the Walemen Sang’ according to an article in The Vineyard Gazette.
First published in 1964 this collection of sea chanteys by Marthas Vineyard fisherman, farmer, school teacher and historian Gale Huntington has been out of print for years in spite of being considered a landmark work.
The museum has also agreed to publish a second, previously unpublished work which is a sequel to ‘Songs’.
