Green Linnet Records Acquired by Digital Music Group

Green Linnet Records and its affiliated world music label, Xenophile have been acquired by Digital Music Group Inc. The Green Linnet catalog includes over 2,400 tracks from leading Celtic artists such as Niamh Parsons, Old Blind Dogs, Lunasa, Patrick Street, and Tannahill Weavers.

The Digital Music Group sells music to online stores and specializes in “past-hits, out-of-print, back catalog, and independent label recordings” according to the press release. You can read a bit more background on DMGI here.

Update: In the 2003 a number of prominent artists filed suit against Green Linnet for non-payment of royalties. There was quite a bit of comment on it at the time but I can’t find anything since. Does anyone know if this was ever resolved?
