John Hall Elected to US Congress

Singer, Songwriter and activist John Hall has been elected to the US congress representing New York’s 19th Congressional District.

Hall has written hit songs for Janis Joplin (”Half Moon”), Bonnie Raitt (”Good Enough”), Linda Ronstadt (”Give One Heart”), Chet Atkins, Steve Wariner (”You Can Dream of Me”), Chaka Khan, and of course John’s own band Orleans (”Still The One” and “Dance With Me”). His guitar solos have been featured on albums by Jackson Browne, Little Feat, Taj Mahal and others. John was one of the organizers of the No Nukes concerts and John & Johanna’s song “Power” became the theme song of the movement with a memorable performance by James Taylor and the Doobie Brothers, and subsequent versions by Peter Seger, Holly Near, and Peter Paul & Mary.
