John Cephas, half of the acoustic blues duo Cephas and Wiggins, died at his Virginia home on Wednesday. Born in Washington, D.C., Cephas was raised in Bowling Green, Virginia. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the National Council for the Traditional Arts and a founder of the Washington, D.C. Blues Society. Cephas and Wiggins were scheduled to perform at the Savannah Music Festival March 19.
